Laminate has been around for over 50 years and is still a popular choice for counters, offices and accents. Most people choose it because of it's low costs, but with the new colors and patterns that have been developed some people prefer it for its overall look. Laminate sheets are bonded, using special adhesives, to "substrates" made of plywood, fiberboard or particleboard which give the final product its strength and substance. The laminate surface provides resistance from wear and impact and with the right care can last years and years. Metropolitan Cabinet & Countertops offers hundreds of laminate colors and patterns to choose from by four of the industry's leading manufacturers: Formica, Nevamar, Pionite and Wilsonart. All of our tops are fabricated locally at our Norwood facility and some orders can even be picked up the same day.
Below are profiles of the different edges and options that are available for laminate countertops. The E-2000 and square edge tops are available with or without a loose back splash. Wood edge tops are also available in any wood species with a number of edge profiles.
